Community Slogan: "Havelock - preserving the past facing the future"

Havelock was the first community in the US to have all their telephone wires underground, changing over from rural party lines to modern touchtone phones. It is midway between the east and west lines of the county and 7 ½ miles from Pocahontas, the county seat.
