For those new to our site WELCOME! Havelock, Iowa is a clean, honest and easy place to live. Life is good in Northwest Iowa so we put up with a few twisters and cold weather once in awhile. The good thing about Iowa weather.. if you don't like it just wait half a day and it will be different! We work hard and we play hard out here in Northwest. We have some great recreational opportunities that are right close to home and easy and quick to get to. Havelock welcomes RAGBRAI to town on Monday, July 23, 2007. If you are riding, please plan on stopping in town for food, refreshments, and entertainment. Community Slogan: "Havelock - preserving the past facing the future" Havelock was the first community in the US to have all their telephone wires underground, changing over from rural party lines to modern touchtone phones.
